Universal Pre-Kindergarten

Mrs. Dymond’s Pre-K PageUPK Teacher

The Ballston Area Community Center (BACC) will be offering a Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program for 4-year-olds starting this fall.

The 2 ½ hour, state-funded program will be taught by a certified teacher with training in early education. The research based curriculum will promote a child’s total growth and development in all areas including emergent literacy that will instill life long independent learning skills.

The UPK program is open to all children in the Ballston Spa School District who are four years old on or before December 1, 2008. There is no income eligibility requirement.

BACC will be offering two sessions at its facility, 20 Malta Ave., in the Village of Ballston Spa. The morning session will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon session will be from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The sessions run from September through June, following the school district calendar.

BACC does not currently have a transportation service for this program. Families and child care providers who wish to take advantage of this free enrichment program for their children will need to provide transportation to and from BACC.

Each session is limited to 16 children, and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications are available in the download forms section.

We are excited we can offer this new and valuable service for our area’s children and we hope you can take full advantage of it. Thank you for spreading the word, and hope to hear from you soon.
